The School of Medicine Graduation Ceremony was held on July 5, 2024, at the grass amphitheater. The ceremony commenced with a speech by our Rector, Prof. Ahmet Sahin, followed by addresses from Dr. Ece Ozsoy, the top-ranking graduate representing the faculty graduates, and our Dean of the School of medicine, Prof. Nadi Bakirci.
Dr. Ece Ozsoy, who graduated at the top of the School of medicine, was awarded the Board of Trustees Outstanding Achievement Certificate, presented by Seher Aydinlar, a member of the Board of Trustees and the President of the Kerem Aydınlar Foundation. The second-ranking graduate, Dr. Canberk Demirbel, and the third-ranking graduate, Dr. Aysenaz Kesim, received the Rector’s Achievement Certificates, presented by our Rector, Prof. Ahmet Sahin. Following the award ceremony, our graduates received their diplomas from our Dean, Prof. Nadi Bakirci, and took the Physician’s Oath, marking their first steps into the medical profession.
The 2024 School of medicine Graduation Ceremony concluded with the traditional cap tossing ceremony. We congratulate all our graduates and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.
The traditional White Coat Ceremony of our University’s School of Medicine was held on October 22, 2025, in the conference hall. The newly admitted medical students took their first steps into their medical journey by donning their white coats—embroidered with their names and the university emblem—and receiving their stethoscopes from the Dean of the School of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Nadi Bakırcı.
The ceremony, attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mehmet Ali Aydınlar, the President of the Kerem Aydınlar Foundation Seher Aydınlar, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şahin, and our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Güldal Süyen, Prof. Dr. İrfan Güney, and Prof. Dr. Levent Altıntaş, began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Nadi Bakırcı addressing the young medical students. Following the speech, a short panel moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melike Şahiner from the Department of Medical Education featured medical school alumni and current students from different stages of their education, who shared their experiences and insights with the newcomers.
With the participation of families and faculty members, the ceremony was coordinated by Dr. Milena Can Özkan, a graduate of our School of Medicine and a current resident in the Department of Anatomy. Throughout the event, Dr. Özkan presented a talk prepared by the faculty members of the Department of the History of Medicine and Ethics, focusing on the history and symbolic meaning of the white coat in the medical profession.
The ceremony concluded with the students gathering on stage for a group photo in their white coats and leaving the stage to warm applause.
We congratulate all our students who have taken this meaningful step and wish them a medical career filled with success and fulfillment.
