The Opticianry Program is a two-year associate degree program designed to educate healthcare technicians who are qualified to select, prepare, and fit optical devices in accordance with prescriptions issued by ophthalmologists for patients diagnosed with refractive errors. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills to help correct or alleviate visual impairments by preparing optical devices according to prescribed measurements and ensuring proper patient adaptation.
The Opticianry Program admitted its first students in the 2015–2016 academic year. In addition to a strong theoretical foundation, students receive comprehensive hands-on training in a modern Opticianry Laboratory equipped with advanced instruments and devices, enabling them to gain practical experience and prepare for the professional processes they will encounter after graduation. The program also includes hospital-based clinical training, allowing students to work closely with ophthalmologists and develop essential professional competencies.
Throughout the two-year curriculum, the program aims to educate highly qualified and competent opticians who are well prepared for professional practice.
