A Nutrition and Dietetics Specialist is a professional who plans and organizes individual and collective nutrition programs in accordance with the principles of nutritional science to promote growth and development, protect and improve health throughout life, and enhance quality of life; investigates, evaluates, and finds solutions to health problems arising from nutrients, foods, and nutrition; ensures the use of available food resources in accordance with economic and health guidelines; and informs and raises awareness among individuals and society about adopting healthy lifestyles from physiological, psychological, and sociological perspectives. This specialist also plans, educates, implements, and monitors diet programs based on the composition of natural and therapeutic foods appropriate to medical and surgical treatments in congenital and acquired diseases and other special conditions.
The aim of the Acıbadem University Institute of Health Sciences Master’s Program in Nutrition and Dietetics with Thesis is to train scientists who will plan and conduct research in the field of nutrition and dietetics in line with changing health needs, interpret the results, and contribute to universal science; to educate researchers or specialists in academic or professional positions; and to produce knowledgeable, enlightened, competent, and skilled experts in nutrition and dietetics who can contribute to national policies and have expertise at both national and international levels.
