Due to the impact of developments in science and technology, changes in the delivery and financing systems of healthcare services, efforts to keep pace with globalization, and increasing pressures related to cost and effectiveness, there is a growing need for qualified health management education and for the training of competent faculty members who can provide this education.
The aim of the Health Management PhD Program is to equip participants with the ability to conduct research in the field of health management, to comprehensively examine and interpret both the theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline, and to develop methods for reaching new findings.
In all countries around the world, two major challenges are being addressed simultaneously: one is managing the increasing and diversifying demands for healthcare services, and the other is coordinating the unavoidable rise in healthcare expenditures with efforts toward sustainability through effective planning. These challenges have, in recent years, increased the need for managers with doctoral-level education in Health Management in both the public and private healthcare sectors.
Students who pursue a PhD in Health Management will be able to analyze the delivery and financing of healthcare services using economic evaluation methods and make informed decisions regarding the appropriate use of resources and technology. By utilizing resources in a cost-effective manner, they will be able not only to ensure that the right tasks are performed and managed, but also that these tasks are carried out correctly, thereby making significant contributions to the healthcare sector.
In summary, the Health Management PhD Program aims to educate health managers at the doctoral level who can think analytically and critically in the fields of education, research, practice, and management; develop new approaches to solving problems; accurately analyze information; and effectively use research methods.
