Engineering is fundamentally focused on developing technologies that improve the quality of life. A good engineer should have a strong send of both life and its quality, as well as a good grasp of the basics of technology and its development processes. Moreover, an engineer must be eager to produce new and innovative technologies. The aim of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences is on one hand to graduate health technologists and engineers who aim to develop innovative technologies that will increase the quality of health services, backed up with strong basic scientific knowledge, and on the other hand graduate basic science experts who can use these technologies and even contribute to their development. In this context, the mission of our faculty is to educate our students to be critical thinkers, to possess research passion, and who will be competitive in national and international fields while proposing innovative solutions to the problems of the society they live in.
We have established the four most basic departments necessary to accomplish this mission. Students who choose the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics receive most up to date knowledge on this field, while under Department of Biomedical Engineering they learn the operational principles of technologies used in healthcare. Students of the Department of Computer Engineering learn the basics of this field with a strong emphasis on the concepts and applications data engineering employed in healthcare sector. Basic scientific knowledge, which is the starting point of all students, is given by our Department of Basic Sciences. Throughout their education, students receive training from their expert teachers in our laboratories equipped with the latest technologies.
In our faculty, both basic scientific and applied studies are carried out in areas such as molecular biology and genetics, cancer, neuroscience, neurotechnology, biomaterials, tissue engineering, medical devices, medical biotechnology, drug discovery, artificial intelligence engineering. Students are offered courses and research opportunities in these subjects.
This is a path to be cherished by the most passionate since we are all about improving healthcare. We welcome and educate the privileged students in our state-of-art university.
