The Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology offers all modern applications of orthopedics science. The Department of Hand Surgery was established in 2011 as a sub-specialty of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
Academic staff members who are specialists in other clinical sub-branches both teach and monitor the modern treatment services given to patients. The clinic offers treatment services aimed at diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Hip, knee, shoulder and ankle joint replacements (prostheses) as well as partial knee replacements are performed with success. All types of spinal surgery (fractures, scoliosis, narrow spinal canal and vertebroplasy-kyphoplasty) can be performed. Sports surgery is offered at international standards while knee, shoulder, hip and ankle arthroscopic surgery is also carried out. Congenital disabilities and all pediatric orthopedic problems are treated at the clinic.
The department also performs adult reconstructive procedures and treats bones that do not heal, provides bone lengthening treatment, arm and leg reshaping, treats bone losses, bone infections, joint movement restrictions, and structural bone disorders using Ilizarov and modern fixation methods. At the same time, corrective surgery can be performed in case of complications resulting from treatments for prosthesis or fractures.
