Due to the increasing and diverse demand for healthcare services worldwide and in our country, it is essential to allocate more resources to the health sector. The efficient and effective use of limited resources like finances, materials, workforce, and technology has created a greater need for well-trained healthcare managers. The Department of Healthcare Management at Acıbadem University's Faculty of Health Sciences aims to educate "professional healthcare managers" who are innovative, research-oriented, competitive, entrepreneurial, and equipped with lifelong learning skills to handle various healthcare management roles.
The curriculum includes theoretical courses based on international healthcare management education programs and national healthcare management standards, taught by experienced faculty members. Additionally, students gain practical experience and undergo internships to become competent healthcare managers.
To enhance the quality of education further, the Department of Healthcare Management introduced changes to its educational program starting from the 2020-2021 academic year. The new model, developed in collaboration with the University and the Private Sector, includes intensive English language education from the first year. Throughout the second, third, and fourth years, students have increased opportunities for practical applications, internships, and work experience in various departments within Acıbadem Health Group's hospitals, medical centers, and subsidiaries, compared to previous terms. This applied training not only facilitates their job entry process but also equips them with valuable experience for their professional careers.
Acıbadem University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Health Management, will continue to be a department that provides contemporary-standard education, generates knowledge at the national and international levels, contributes to the Turkish healthcare system with the graduates and produced knowledge, and opens up new horizons for the students.
