Purpose of Training

Chronic wound care is a challenging process for patients, their relatives and healthcare professionals who provide treatment. There has been an increase in diabetes and obesity patients in the world and in Turkey in recent years; The average human lifespan is getting longer and the incidence of chronic wounds is increasing in parallel with these changes. Worldwide, chronic wound care principles are often not included in medical and nursing education curricula. The need for wound care specialists is increasing exponentially all over the world and especially in our country.

In this context; TÜV Rheinhard certified “ICW Wound Expert” program was created in cooperation with the German ICW Association (Initiative Chronishe Wunde), one of Europe's leading wound associations, Paul HARTMANN and Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, with the aim of educating our country's healthcare professionals about current chronic wound care and the care of wound patients.

Target Group

Physicians and Nurses Interested in Wound Care and Management

Training Period

The learning content is a curriculum-based program. The training period is 7 days (56 hours) of theoretical training and simulation applications, 2 days (16 hours) of practical training (Practical training will be completed within 3 months after the end of the course, and information on the subject will be made during the course).

Training Content

Simulation Applications: Applied skills training will be held at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University CASE (Center of Advanced Simulation and Education) Center using different simulation methods.

Success Criteria

A practice exam is held at the end of the training. Participation in all training is required.

Issued Documents

Participants who successfully complete the training are given the TÜV Rheinland approved “ICW (Initiative Chronische Wunden- Chronic Wounds Initiative) Wound Specialist” certificate.
