With our solar energy power plant, the entire electricity demand of our university is provided through renewable sources.
Our university sets an example and achieves firsts in investments in renewable energy sources within the framework of sustainability and environmental policies to prevent global warming and leave a greener and more livable world for future generations.
Located on a 67,000 m2 area in Manisa Alaşehir, our Solar Energy Power Plant (SEP), installed with 13,000 panels, along with the Solar Energy Plant on the roofs of our campus buildings and our Wind Energy Power Plants (WEP), meets the electricity needs of our university through renewable energy sources with approximately zero carbon emissions."
Consequently:
• The installation of our Solar Energy Power Plant (SEP) with a capacity of 5.81 MWp aims to generate approximately 10 million kWh of electricity annually.
• The yearly electricity production is anticipated to cover the entirety of our university's educational facilities' electricity consumption.
• Opting for electricity from the SEP facility rather than the city grid is expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions by approximately 6,000 tons.
• The installation of a 100 kW SEP and a 13 kW Wind Energy Power Plant (WEP) on campus building rooftops contributes to an annual production of 150 MWh of electricity, resulting in a yearly reduction of 100 tons of CO2 emissions.
• The previously implemented 1200 kW Cogeneration System will address the electricity and heat requirements of commercial enterprises on campus (excluding educational structures), leading to an annual reduction of 1400 tons of CO2 emissions.
This effort will substantially reduce our corporate carbon footprint. Through the energy investments of our university, the planting of 300,000 trees on a 2,000,000 m² expanse will have an equivalent effect, culminating in an annual reduction of 7,500 tons of CO2 emissions. Acıbadem University takes great pride in being at the forefront of preserving the ecological balance of our environment and contributing to the creation of a more habitable world.Formun Üstü
