ASUMA's Symposium on Women of the Republic in its 100th Year

The Crime and Violence Research and Application Center (ASUMA) of Acıbadem University organized the "Symposium on Women of the Republic in its 100th Year" on November 24, 2023. The symposium featured speakers such as Prof. Gunseli Bayram Akçapınar, Director of the Institute of Health Sciences at Acibadem University; Prof. Yakut Irmak, a Public Health Specialist from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine; and Prof. Aynur Soydan Erdemir from the Istanbul University Institute of Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution. The event, aiming to draw attention to women's rights and related studies in the context of the Republic's centennial, commenced with a speech by Prof.  Oğuz Polat from the Acıbadem University Department of Forensic Medicine, evaluating "The Status of Women's Rights in Turkey." This was followed by presentations under the theme "Development of Women and History of Women's Rights in the Republican Era" by Prof. Günseli Bayram Akcapinar, Prof. Yakut Irmak, and Assoc. Prof. Aynur Soydan Erdemir. 

The symposium, which saw the participation of 150 individuals, concluded after a question-and-answer session.
