The Campus Cup, which was organized by Marmaris International Yacht Club (MIYC) and Turkish Sailing Federation (TYF) under the main sponsorship of Nurolbank, was held between 15-17 March 2024 in order to introduce university sailors to the sea and to connect those who meet with each other.In the Campus Cup, where 18 teams from 13 different universities were registered and more than 200 athletes took part, the teams competed in IRC 1, IRC 2 and IRC 3 classes.
Our Maritime and Sailing Club students, who represent our university in the races, won the 2nd place in the IRC3 class by struggling to fill their sails with the wind in Marmaris Bay and enter the rank. The second place trophy, which was won at the end of the three-day races, was presented to our students at the award ceremony held in the garden of Marmaris International Yacht Club with the participation of many guests.
We would like to congratulate our Maritime and Sailing Club students representing our university in the race, Club Honorary President Metincan Erkaya, Faculty of Medicine student, Club Chairman of the Board of Directors Engineering and Natural Sciences Biomedical Engineering and Computer Engineering student Batuhan Sonmez, Club Vice Chairman Pharmacy student Oyku Hazal Salci, Club Organization Officer Medical Student Elif Doga Karaburun, Club Financial Affairs Officer Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Psychology Department student Yaren Muslu, Club External Relations Officer Health Sciences Faculty Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department student Cem Alper Yilanli and Club Race Captain Health Sciences Faculty Nutrition and Dietetics Department student Hakan Coskun, and wish them continued success.
