The 'Regions with Folk Songs' Concert, organized in conjunction with the Music Club as part of the 100th Anniversary celebrations of our Republic, took place on January 18, 2023, in the conference hall. The concert featured performances of folk songs from various regions of Anatolia and was attended by our Board of Trustees Chairman Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, Seher Aydinlar, Chairman of the Kerem Aydinlar Foundation, the rector, vice-rectors, academic and administrative leaders, staff, and students.
The event showcased our first-year medical student and TRT Youth Choir Artist Burak Emre Gunduz on the bağlama (a traditional Turkish stringed instrument), along with TRT Youth Choir Artist Mehdi Genc; Sarp Tuna Celik, a student at the ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory and TRT Youth Choir Artist, on the kabak kemane (a traditional Turkish stringed instrument) and kemence (a traditional Turkish stringed instrument); and Safa Akbulut, a student at the Halic University Conservatory, on the bendir (a traditional Turkish frame drum). The event was met with great interest from the participants.
