Sociology Colloquium: Changes in Life Expectancy and Life Inequality in Turkey During the COVID-19 Period

The first colloquium of the 2024-2025 academic year, organized by the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at our university, was held online on October 31, 2024. The study, titled "Changes in Life Expectancy and Life Inequality in Turkey During the COVID-19 Period," was a demographic research project combining data from a doctoral dissertation completed at the Hacettepe Institute of Population Studies (HÜNEE) with data from the pandemic period.

The research was conducted by Dr. Zehra Yayla Enfiyeci under the supervision of Prof. Alanur Çavlin, a member of the HÜNEE faculty. Dr. Enfiyeci delivered the colloquium presentation, with Prof. Çavlin contributing at various points. The meeting, attended by 45 students and faculty members, concluded with a discussion and a Q&A session.
