Research Centres

Neuroradiology and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a rapidly developing subfield of medical sciences, equipped with advanced technological devices. The long-standing efforts of the faculty members from the Departments of Neurosurgery, Neurological Sciences, Radiology, and Pathology at our university have led to significant knowledge accumulation, resulting in numerous international publications and books. To further intensify research in Neurological Sciences and Neuroradiology, and to promote the dissemination of knowledge, the Neuroradiology Application and Research Centre was established within our university in September 2011. The primary upcoming activities of the Centre are summarized below.

1- Clinical trials with new MRI sequences (Susceptibility Weighted Imaging (SWI), Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL)).
2- Investigation of intraoperative MRI with sequence optimizations and contrast usage.
3- Research on cell and brain tumors using MRI Spectroscopy.
4- Research on central and peripheral nerve studies through Diffusion Tensor Imaging and Fiber Tracing with MRI.
5- Psychiatric patient research with functional MRI imaging.
6- Training qualified researchers in advanced MRI topics, offering courses and seminars on these subjects.
7- Contribution to the master's program at Acıbadem Health Institute.
8- Providing technical and application-level support for nationwide studies using high Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Organ failure, which is increasingly becoming a significant health issue, still cannot be approached with timely, accurate diagnosis and treatment in many of our country’s healthcare centres.

Established in 2007, Acıbadem University aims to fill the gap in the field of health sciences in our country by training highly knowledgeable, technologically proficient, scientific, and innovative individuals. The Acıbadem Health Group’s solid infrastructure, which has been providing top-quality healthcare services reliably and efficiently for many years, plays a vital role in the establishment of research-focused centres within the university that aim to develop qualified human resources.

Since 11/10/2010, the Acıbadem Health Group has been offering advanced diagnosis and treatment services to patients with organ failure under the Organ Transplantation Centre with a multidisciplinary approach, addressing a significant health issue not only in Turkey but worldwide. The Acıbadem University Organ Transplantation Research and Application Centre began its operations on 02/11/2011, as published in the Official Gazette no. 28103. The centre’s purpose is to perform all types of tissue and organ transplantation applications at a contemporary level in collaboration with the relevant departments, divisions, and units of Acıbadem University, transfer new developments in tissue and organ transplantation to our country, conduct basic and applied research, develop new techniques in this field, supply organs, and work towards raising public awareness on organ transplantation.
