Author Identification Systems
The following author identification systems are used to solve the problems encountered in citation analysis due to the different spelling of the names of the researchers or the fact that there is more than one researcher with the same name.
Researcher ID & Publons: It is a free service that makes it easy for researchers to monitor and demonstrate their influence as authorship, journal editor, and reviewer in one place. When you register with ResearcherID, you get a unique alphanumeric identifier and you can create a complete list of publications by associating all your publications with this identifier. Thanks to your ResearcherID account, your current citation analysis of your publications in Web of Science and all your publications will be displayed instantly and accurately.
ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID): By using a single digital identity, ORCID ensures that all research outputs of a researcher are collected under a single account. The ORCID number can be mapped to ResearcherID and Scopus ID.
PLAGIARISM ANALYSIS PROGRAMS
iThenticate: It is used to determine the copying (plagiarism) rate in the articles to be produced at the academic level. Faculty members with a doctorate degree or above can use the program. To become a member, an e-mail must be sent to kutuphane@acibadem.edu.tr.
Turnitin: It is a web-based plagiarism detection software used to detect plagiarism and improper citations in student assignments, master's and doctoral theses. Theses uploaded to the system are automatically compared with the sources in a very large data pool, and a similarity report is created by detecting citations, similarities, and improper use of sources. Only academicians can use the program. In order to use the Turnitin program and create a Turnitin account on your behalf, you can contact the Library via the address kutuphane@acibadem.edu.tr.
REFERENCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Mendeley Institutional Edition: Mendeley Institutional Edition is a tool for institutions that provides a bibliography management tool and academic social networking service that helps researchers manage and improve their research, collaborate online with other researchers, and access the latest research. Offering simultaneous use on different devices, online and offline, Mendeley is also a powerful PDF management tool. Mendeley desktop application, mobile applications and web application work in sync. It is sufficient to use the “create an account” link at http://www.mendeley.com to download the Mendeley Desktop program and provide membership.
