Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Biomedical Engineering Doctoral Program (BME Ph.D.) mainly focuses on neural engineering, medical imaging and point of care technologies, biomaterials (smart materials, smart drug release systems) but also Biomedical Electronics, Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, Biophotonics, Physiology, Neuroscience and System Biology. In addition to the theoretical courses and laboratory applications, the clinical studies are carried out in cooperation with the hospitals and healthcare professionals. In this respect, each course in the curriculum is designed to include a clinical project.
Biomedical Engineering is the field that deals with the research and development of novel technologies needed in healthcare environments. Our BME Ph.D. programs offer a variety of courses and expertise in following concentration areas:
- Biomaterials
- Nanomedicine
- Biotechnological Drug Development
- Neuroscience/Neuroimaging
- Biomechanics
- Biosensors
- Computational Biology
- Artificial Intelligence in healthcare
In our BME Ph.D. program, healthcare technologies are determined in cooperation with medical doctors and healthcare professionals and thesis studies are conducted for this need. Courses and seminars are coordinated by experts. Candidates, who have the opportunity to conduct research and development in the fields, where international and national projects are carried out, gain experience in which they can continue their careers in industry and academy when they graduate. The primary objective of our BME Ph.D. program is to provide students the opportunity to invest in their future and to increase our scientific productivity through participating in our research projects. In recent years both in the world and in our country, the amount of support given to the ongoing research in the field of medical science has been increasing. National and international research funds support basic scientific, clinical and technological research. We, as the team of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, have benefited and will continue to benefit from these funds.
