The "Breast Health and Surgery" Symposium, organized by ACUTBAT (Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine Scientific Research Society) of Acıbadem University, took place on February 17, 2023, in the conference hall of our university. The event, aimed at increasing awareness about breast health, covered topics such as 'Diagnostic Methods, Surgery, Radiotherapy, Medical Oncology, Cancer, and Life.' The symposium featured speakers from Acıbadem Health Group and experts in the field of breast health and surgery, including academicians, surgeons, and psychologists. In the Diagnostic Methods session; Prof. Gül Esen İçten, Prof. Füsun Taşkın, Specialist Dr. Meliha Akın, Assoc. Prof. Ravza Yılmaz, Prof. Erkin Arıbal, Assoc. Prof. Fatma Tokat, Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Yeşilyurt, Psychologist Berna Sabrioğlu, provided information about the diagnosis of breast cancer and innovative approaches.
In the Surgery Session; Prof. Atakan Sezer, Prof. Mehmet Velidedeoğlu, Prof. Mustafa Tükenmez, Dr. Mehmet Sağır, discussed current breast surgery techniques.
In the Radiotherapy session; Prof. Nuran Beşe, Assist. Prof. Serap Yücel, Prof. Yasemin Bölükbaşı, Assoc. Prof. Kamuran İbiş, emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in radiotherapy techniques.
In the Medical Oncology session; Prof. Özlem Sönmez, Prof. Taner Korkmaz, Prof. Ali Arıcan, Assoc. Prof. Zeliha Pala Kara, shared information about treatment methods and strategic points in drug development.
In the Cancer and Life session; Prof. Dr. Bahadır Güllüoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Akif Enes Arıkan, Assoc. Prof. Onur Dülgeroğlu, Assoc. Prof. Selin Özaltın, Assoc. Prof. Halil Kara, President of Europa Donna Turkey Breast Diseases Coalition Association Violet Aroyo, Functional Medicine and Holistic Nutrition Health Coach, MBSR Instructor Sema Özpekmezci, Assoc.
