Brain Bee 2024- Türkiye Competition

Our university had the honor of hosting the first-ever Brain Bee competition in Türkiye, aimed at high school students interested in neuroscience, on June 1, 2024, with support from the Brain Research Society. This competition, known internationally as the International Brain Bee, is organized in collaboration with the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO). It provides an opportunity for high school students passionate about neuroscience to test and expand their knowledge in this field.

The event featured prominent speakers such as Prof. Ata Akin, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Acıbadem University, and Prof. Tamer Demiralp, President of the Brain Research Society, Co-Chair of the 2024 National Neuroscience Congress, and faculty member of the Department of Physiology at Istanbul Medical School. Additionally, Assist. Prof. Bernis Sutcubasi, Assistant Professor from the Department of Psychology at Acibadem University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, who has made significant contributions to the field of neuroscience, also participated in the event.

The competition consisted of multiple-choice questions, testing the participants in categories such as human neuroanatomy, neurohistology, and patient diagnosis. There was also a live evaluation session where competitors answered questions orally posed by academics, designed to assess their knowledge and thinking skills in real-time.

The winners of the competition will be offered internship opportunities and the chance to attend prestigious international neuroscience conferences by Brain Bee.
