Our faculty member from Acıbadem University School of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology, Prof. Dr. Özgür Kurt, was elected as the Chair of the "Turkish Microbiology Society Parasitology Working Group" at the 41st Turkish Microbiology Congress.
Prof. Dr. Özgür Kurt also served as a Board Member of the Turkish Microbiology Society between 2018 and 2021.
The Parasitology Working Group of the Turkish Microbiology Society, one of the first non-governmental organizations in our country, has been active since 1931. The group aims to monitor developments related to parasitic diseases, which are among the infectious disease agents threatening human, animal, and environmental health. Additionally, it seeks to inform healthcare professionals and the public, develop and implement scientific projects, and contribute to the better education of students in the field of health sciences regarding parasitic disease agents.
