The second Graduation Projects Fair, organized in collaboration between our University's Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Medical Engineering, and Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, was held on May 26, 2023.
The fair, which started with the opening speeches of our Vice Rector Prof. İrfan Güney, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Prof. Ata Akın, Human Resources Director of Acıbadem Health Group H. Cenk Sandıkçı, and Director of Pharmaceutical Operations at Gensenta Dr. Pharm. İrem Yenice, presented a total of 33 graduation projects by final year undergraduate students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Medical Engineering, and Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. At the end of the fair, the evaluation committee assessed the posters of the projects and awarded the students with the highest scores the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and jury encouragement awards.
The 1st place award was given to Eda Gülay Özdemir, a 4th-year student from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, for her project titled "Computational Peptide Design Towards KRAS Homodimer for Preventing Dimerization," conducted under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Can Timuçin.
The 2nd place award was shared by Dora Siğli, a 4th-year student from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, for her project titled "Type 1 Interferon Signature Analysis in an Undiagnosed Autoinflammatory Family," conducted under the supervision of Prof. Eda Tahir Turanlı, and Meliha Mihri Şahin, Muhammed Furkan Turan, and Hasan Barış Dara Bozalan, 4th-year students from the Department of Medical Engineering, for their project titled "Peptide Conjugated Functional Microspheres as 3D Scaffolds for Increased Cell Adhesion in Tissue Engineering," conducted under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Özgül Gök.
The 3rd place award was given to Engin Mert Yenen, a 4th-year student from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, for his project titled "Gene Editing with CRISPR/Cas9 System in HCT116 Colon Carcinoma Cell Line Model," conducted under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Nazlı Keskin Toklu.
The jury encouragement award was won by Eda Peker, a 5th-year student from the Faculty of Pharmacy, for her project titled "Evaluation of Citrus Limon L. (Lemon) Essential Oil Samples Sold on the Market in Turkey in Terms of European Pharmacopoeia 10.0 Criteria," conducted under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Timur Hakan Barak.
