The Symposium on Health Economics and Finance, organized in collaboration with the Department of Health Management at Acibadem University Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Health Management at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, was held at our university from April 27-29, 2024.
During the symposium, which saw participation from 25 different universities and five different sectors, the results of a text-mining study conducted on approximately 260,000 academic papers in the field of Health Economics and Finance were presented, focusing on their titles, abstracts, and keywords. On the second day of the symposium, six working groups were formed during the workshop, and discussions were held on the following topics: "Important/Emerging Themes and Trends in Health Economics/Finance", "Global and Country-Specific Research Proposals, Topics of Increasing Importance, and Orphan Areas in Health Economics/Finance" and "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Other Analytical Approaches on Health Economics/Finance".
Faculty members from the Department of Health Management at the University of Alabama at Birmingham who attended the symposium visited the Advanced Simulation and Education Center (CASE) and Acıbadem Atasehir Hospital. On the final day of the symposium, a visit to the Advanced Simulation and Education Center (CASE) and Acibadem Atasehir Hospital was conducted together with researchers from the Department of Health Management at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
