LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

English Proficiency

1- Acıbadem University Foreign Language Preparatory School examination regulations are applied for the Preparatory education Program and undergraduate programs.

2- Student are required to certify their English language proficiency to start English undergraduate programs.

a) Applicants are required to submit a valid English proficiency certificate at the time of application. Applicants who submit a valid language certificate can begin their undergraduate studies without taking the English proficiency exam of the University. 

b) Students who cannot submit a certificate are required to take the Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University English Preparatory Program Exemption and Placement Exam (ACUPEP PPT) and must obtain at least the minimum passing grade determined by the Senate.

c) Students who cannot meet proficiency requirements are required to attend the English Preparatory Program. 

d) Students who study at a secondary school in a country where English is spoken as a mother tongue for at least the last three years and complete secondary education in these institutions are exempt from the English Preparatory Program.

     3-Students enrolled in Turkish associate degree and bachelor degree programs are required to take the Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Exemption   and Placement Exam (APPT). According to their result, they may be exempt from English courses partially or completely. Students who do not take the exam or do not submit an equivalent international exam result must take these courses.

Turkish Proficiency

1- Student who apply to Turkish-medium degree programs, must prove their Turkish proficiency before registration. 

2- For Bachelor degrees, student who obtained at least B2 in the Turkish Proficiency Examinations administered by TÖMER, Yunus Emre Institute or any other examination centers accredited by the Higher Education Council can start their degree programs.

3- Turkish proficiency of students enrolled in Turkish or English programs may be evaluated by the university in written and / or oral exams when necessary.

4- School of Medicine students are required to certify their Turkish proficiency at the end of the third year. Students who fail to prove their Turkish proficiency will not be allowed to continue to their 4th year clinical studies.

5- Student of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (English) must certify their Turkish proficiency by the end of their third year at the latest. Until they fulfill this requirement, they cannot proceed to the fourth year.

6- Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing (English) must certify their Turkish proficiency by the end of the first semester at the latest. Until they fulfill this requirement, they cannot proceed to the second semester.

7- Students who have completed their secondary education in Turkish-medium institutions in Turkey for at least the last three years and students of TRNC nationality are not required to provide a Turkish Proficiency Certificate.
