The '3rd TEPDAD/WFME Best Practices in Medical Education' Symposium was hosted by our university

The symposium, organized in collaboration with the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAD) and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), was held at our university's School of Medicine from May 20-22, 2024. The event aimed to share and disseminate best practices in pre-graduate medical education programs.

Held internationally for the first time, the three-day symposium was attended by 136 academicians from 50 educational institutions in Türkiye, as well as 19 senior administrators from 11 medical faculties across six countries. The symposium featured 32 presentations and 40 poster presentations, including 13 from abroad. Panels discussed best practices in medical education. WFME President Prof. Ricardo León-Bórquez from Mexico delivered a speech on "Accreditation of Medical Education Programs." Our Dean of the School of Medicine, Prof. Nadi Bakırcı, presented on “Social Accountability Studies at Acıbadem University School of Medicine,” while our final-year medical student, Intern Dr. Mustafa Ege Şeker, successfully represented our university in the student session.

The symposium, which also included representatives from distinguished medical faculties in Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait, addressed current and future key issues in medical education. It concluded with closing remarks by TEPDAD President Prof. İskender Sayek and WFME President Prof. Ricardo León-Bórquez.
