Biological Sample Preservation Request

To accept biological samples/data to the ACU Biobank Unit, the ACU Biobank Biological Sample/Data Preservation Application Form must be filled out and sent via e-mail to acutab@acibadem.edu.tr. The registered request is then forwarded to the ACU Biobank Unit and subjected to preliminary evaluation by the Administrative Board; acceptance or rejection information regarding the biological sample/data storage request is sent to the applicant within 3 business days. The ACU Biobank Agreement, ACU Biobank Biological Sample Submission Form and ACU_Biobank_Biobank_Informed_Volunteer_Olur_Form are sent via e-mail to researchers whose biological sample/data storage application preliminary request is positive. Afterwards, the sample(s) prepared in accordance with the biological material acceptance conditions specified below should be delivered to the ACU Biobank Unit together with the printouts of the ACU Biobank Agreement and ACU Biobank Biological Sample Submission Form with wet signature.

 

For Biological Sample/Data acceptance, make sure that the following conditions are met:

• The samples/data must be correctly labeled, with the patient's name on it.

• The date and time the sample/data was taken must be specified.

• The type of the sample/data must be specified correctly.

• Ensure that there is enough samples/data.

• It should be ensured that wrong chemical substances are not added to the sample tubes or that the sample(s) are not taken into the wrong tube.

• Samples should not be kept waiting and should be stored in appropriate conditions required for the sample.

• It should not be waited for a long time for serum separation.

• It should be ensured that sufficient centrifugation is done to the samples.

• It must be ensured that the transfer of the samples/data is done in the correct way and under suitable conditions.
